Our values
Not marketing positions. Not aspirational targets. These are the standards Glo holds itself to on every formula, every product, every time. We list them here because you deserve to know exactly what you're buying — and recommending.
Clean formulation
We use the word ‘clean’ carefully. It has become so overused in beauty that it has lost most of its meaning. At Glo, clean has a specific, non-negotiable definition: every formula we make is free from the following ingredients.
Synthetic preservatives linked to hormonal disruption concerns in long-term exposure studies.
Associated with contamination risk; replaced with skin-beneficial alternatives in all Glo formulations.
A common trigger for sensitisation and allergic reaction, particularly in post-treatment and reactive skin.
SLS and SLES are avoided in all Glo formulations; gentler surfactants used where needed.
Plasticising chemicals used as fragrance carriers; excluded entirely.
Every Glo formula is 100% vegan and plant-based — no animal-derived ingredients, ever. Our actives are sourced or synthesised ethically without compromising clinical efficacy.
Plastic microbeads; banned in rinse-off products in the UK and excluded from all Glo formulations.
A petroleum derivative that creates a barrier film without active benefit; replaced with ingredients that actively support the skin barrier.
Clean does not mean passive. Our formulas are free from the above — and loaded with ingredients that are proven to produce change in the skin. Epidermal Growth Factor, retinol, glycolic acid, niacinamide, Vitamin C: these are not gentle-sounding additives. They are serious actives, included because they work.
Cruelty-free & vegan
Glo Skin Beauty is fully vegan. No animal-derived ingredients are used in any Glo formulation, and no animal testing is conducted at any stage — not by us, and not by our suppliers, on our behalf.
This includes our EGF formulations. The Epidermal Growth Factor used in Glo products is synthetic bioidentical — lab-produced to replicate the precise molecular structure of natural EGF, without the use of animal sources.
Certified under PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies programme — both cruelty-free and vegan categories.
All Epidermal Growth Factor used in Glo formulations is synthetic bioidentical. It is not sourced from animals at any stage of production.
All Glo Skin Beauty products sold in the UK are compliant with the UK Cosmetics Regulation (retained from EU Regulation 1223/2009). Animal testing of finished products and ingredients is prohibited under UK law. Glo products are manufactured in Denver, Colorado, USA.
Professional distribution
Glo Skin Beauty is not available on Amazon. It is not sold in supermarkets, pharmacy chains, or general online retailers. This is a deliberate choice — not a distribution gap we’re working to fill.
We distribute exclusively through accredited clinics, medspas, and professional beauty salons because we believe that the best skin results happen in partnership with professionals who understand skin. When a Glo product is recommended to a patient, it has been recommended by someone who has assessed that patient’s skin, understood their treatment programme, and selected the right product for the right purpose. That context cannot be replicated in a general retail environment.
For your clients, this means the Glo product you buy has been chosen for you — not picked off a shelf. For clinics who choose to stock Glo, it means you are part of a professional network that maintains its standards deliberately. We are not trying to be everywhere. We are trying to be right.
Sustainability
Sustainability in beauty is an industry-wide work in progress, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we will do is tell you exactly what we actually have in place — because specific, honest commitments are worth more than aspirational language.
We ship with DHL and offset the carbon footprint of all air freight shipments through DHL’s GoGreen programme. Every international shipment is covered.
Our fulfilment boxes are made from recycled, non-branded cardboard. We chose non-branded packaging deliberately — a plain recycled box is more sustainable than a printed one, and the products inside speak for themselves.
We reuse and recycle our packaging filler materials. No single-use foam, no unnecessary void fill. Where new filler is needed, we use recyclable alternatives.
Polyethylene microbeads are banned from rinse-off products in the UK — and excluded from every Glo formula regardless. This protects aquatic ecosystems from microplastic contamination and removes a skin-safety concern in one decision.
Where our clients prefer it, we conduct meetings and training virtually rather than travelling. We actively encourage this and factor our team’s carbon footprint into how we work. Travel happens when it genuinely adds value; it is not the default.
We are not carbon neutral. We do not yet have a verified supply chain emissions report. We are committed to expanding these commitments as our business grows — and to being transparent about where we are in that process rather than claiming a destination we haven’t reached.
